it’s really quite funny…..
filipinos are OBSESSED with white skin! they make comments to me all the time about how beautiful my skin color is, etc. and there are advertisments everywhere for products and treatments that promise “lighter skin in just 2 weeks!” or “lighter skin for just 10 pesos!”
it’s funny because in the States it’s the opposite. everyone wants to be tan and have dark skin!! OUR advertisements are for bronzers or tanning salons…because according to our standards you need to be tan in order to be considered beautiful.
it’s funny but it’s also kind of sad. we are all made in God’s image and we are all discontent…
whether you are filipino or american, with light skin or dark skin….MAGANDA KA!!!!
